New Era Pinstripe Bowl Review
Going in the offensive stats for Boston College and Penn State were both offensive for the wrong reasons.
But coming out, the two underwhelming offenses put on a show in NY with Penn State winning 31-30 in a rare overtime bowl game.

Lame stat alert: The shanked extra point by the Eagles was the eighth miss on the year by a BC kicker.
No Penn State players were owned, despite the first good game for Christian Hackenberg all year.
The PSU QB set school records with 371 and four touchdowns.
Before anyone kicks themselves, let's remember that this stiff had six games this year without a TD pass and five other games with one scoring pass only.
True he had a 400-yard (1 TD, 2 int) effort against Central Florida in the opener and 300-yard games against Akron and Rutgers in the next two games.

He was decent as a freshman but hardly worth the pundits' or even Beano Cook's drool.
Personal note: I do love PSU Coach James Franklin and his white-hot intensity of a thousand suns/berserker passion.
(GEORGE) QB Murphy, BC 19 points
