Rose Bowl Review
Stanford 45, Iowa 16
About that B1G … the Hawkeyes followed up Michigan State's stillborn performance with one of its own. The Heisman runner-up Christian McCaffrey put on a clinic and pretty much clinched things for Team Patrick.
McCaffrey scored 25 points - but it was the way he scored them - not to mention the fact he could have easily added another 12 to 15 had Iowa not rolled over and played the role of best tomato can in the disguise of conference runner-up.
The Cardinal legend had 172 rushing, 105 receiving with one touchdown catch. On special teams he added a 63-yard punt return touchdown. At that point Team George's social media press release included the line "Why don't we just give Pat the trophy now?" Indeed.
BTW: A hat tip to QB Kevin Hogan who did better than he had the right to, scoring 21 points.
