Rose Bowl Review

The house of cards Florida State built its undefeated record on not only was toppled and stomped, but set on fire for good measure.

Oregon pounded FSU 59-20 led by Heisman winner and Fantasy College Bowl first overall pick Marcus Mariota and a breakneck fast-break offensive siege.

Team Chip's Mariota scored 23 points and had it not been for a lick-the-stamp second half by the 'Noles, would have easily scored more with some meaningful minutes in the fourth quarter.

Points were spread around by the Ducks, who pretty much did whatever they wanted.

FSU QB Jameis Winston managed double figures (scored nearly all in the first half) despite being under pressure with multiple receivers dropping numerous passes. In the second half things fell apart, as did he.

(CHIP) QB Mariota, Oregon 23 points
(CHIP) RB Freeman, Oregon 15 points
(CHIP) WR Marshall, Oregon 1 point
(CHIP) QB Winston, FSU 11 points

That's a stat, Jack: The 39-point loss is FSU's largest since Dec. 3, 1983 (53-14 vs. Florida) and its largest ever in a bowl game. (ESPN Stats)
