Outback Bowl Review

Melvin Gordon trucked Auburn in a record-setting 251 yard performance with 3 scoring runs for good measure in Wisconsin's 34-31 thriller.

Gordon becomes the seventh running back to earn a spot on the all-time warriors list, posting 30 points for Team Patrick. One of many distinguishing achievements for him, including joining UCF's Kevin Smith as the only player to rush for 2,000+ yards with 30+ TDs in the same season.

Sidebar: Thank GOD that Gordon finished 41 yards shy (2,587 yard)  of Barry Sanders' FBS record (2,628). Lest we forget that back in the day Barry (nor anyone else) never had his bowl game stats included in his total. You see kids, back then the NCAA statisticians were members of the Flat Earth Society.

Auburn standout RB Cameron Artis-Payne (140 combined yards, 2 TDs) led the way for the Tigers while QB Nick Marshall (11 points) wasn't much of a factor.
